A Monitoring System for Water Desalination Projects
The seawater desalination process uses ultrafiltration system, reverse osmosis technology and oil separators
Method of water desalination:
The Reverse osmosis membrane method is used for this purpose. A high-pressure pump pumps salt water. As a result, the water molecules in the brine pass through the reverse osmosis membrane and the water and salt separate. It is necessary to properly monitor the performance of systems involved in this process.
A Special monitoring system is designed for this purpose. It includes a level transmitter, a pressure transmitter, a flowmeter and an ultrasonic level sensor:
• The liquid level transmitter monitors the fresh water storage tank and inlet water storage tank.
• The electromagnetic flowmeter monitors the water flow inside the pipeline without being impacted by different factors of liquid such as pressure, temperature, conductivity, etc. it shows parameters including flow rate, instantaneous flow, cumulative flow, flow percentage, etc. in the LCD display.
This allows us to effectively respond emergencies.
• In a high pressure pump, a pressure switch is used to measure the water flow and a pressure transmitter is used to link to the switchgear.
Also, due to the fluctuation of the working environment temperature during the year, a temperature transmitter is used to monitor the temperature of the pipeline. Such a temperature transmitter is flexibly installed.
This system overall helps to monitor the process of desalination of seawater and assists us in supplying drinking water.
