High Pressure Inductive Sensor [Features, Applications, Benefits]
Sensors can be divided into various types, one of which is the inductive sensor. Inductive proximity sensors are contactless sensors that detect metallic objects in their sensing range. High-pressure inductive sensors are a subset of inductive sensors that are the most widely used technology to handle pressure.
Explanation
In most industrial process control, pressure measurement is very important. The pressure sensor converts the pressure information into an electrical signal. High-Pressure inductive sensors are a group of sensors that can be used under high ambient pressure and are available for special pressure resistance requirements.
These sensors operate based on the basic principle of inductive sensors. They make inductive changes to react against the movement of a core toward a coil.
When the iron coil moves, an inductive coil is used to convert these changes to an output signal.

Features of High Pressure Inductive Sensor
High-pressure inductive sensors have a special design to be able to have a long life in harsh environmental conditions and their housing material is generally made of a solid piece of stainless steel which is suitable to resist against the pressure of use and comply with protection class IP 68.
Their active surface is made from stable high-performance ceramic. They withstand in environments and processes with very high dynamic pressure, even up to 500 bar(1,000 bar peak pressure).
They are available With sensing ranges from 0.8mm to 3mm and pressure ranges from 20 to 500 bar and can work in High-temperature environments up to 100 °C.
Applications for High Pressure Inductive Sensor
- Controlling, positioning, and measuring the speed of hydraulic motors
- Monitoring of valve positions
- Piston-control applications where space is at a premium
- Automobile manufacturing, a high-pressure inductive sensor is used for riveting and installing parts
Features and benefits of the high-pressure inductive sensor at a glance
- Resistant to high pressure up to 500 Bar
