Capacitive Sensors Applicable In Quality Check to Ensure Presence of Bottles Caps
In the food packaging industry, just before the bottles enter the packaging line, they must be checked for caps. We need a detection solution to help us in this quality check.
Capacitive sensors are suitable for this application.
Features of capacitive sensors:
• An industrial-grade PPO housing
• IP 67 rated
• Highly resistant to the frequent cleansing tasks performed on the device
• Adjustable operating distance using a 20-turn potentiometer
The function of capacitive sensors:
A single sensor is mounted on the bottle conveyor, forming a port through which the bottle passes. Sensors detect the presence of bottle caps by sensing changes in permittivity. If the sensor identifies a bottleneck without a cap or lid, the permittivity will differ from the preset amount.
Rejected bottles will be identified and instantly eliminated from the packaging line. Furthermore, the sensor guarantees the correct number of bottles in each pack by counting them during passing.
