Why choose Rectangular Proximity Sensor?

Rectangular proximity sensors divide into two groups: one with the sensing face on one of the small sides and the other with the sensing face on one of the larger sides. For example, imagine a 5x5x25 mm sensor. In the first case, the sensing face locates on one of the 5x5 sides, and in the second group, it would locate on one of the 25x5 sides.

In the first group, you must take height of the sensor into consideration for space critical areas. Square proximity sensor PS series is an example of these sensors.

In the second group, you should take the length of the sensor into account. We can name flat type proximity sensor PFI series and rectangular sensor AS series as two examples of this group.
