Description

Application

The Prosonic Flow P 500 is an ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeter designed for safe, maintenance-free measurement of both conductive and non-conductive liquids, even in challenging conditions. It measures flow noninvasively and bidirectionally, unaffected by pressure, density, or conductivity, without interrupting the process. With FlowDC, mounting flexibility is maximized, maintaining the specified accuracy with an inlet run of just 2 x DN, even when flow profiles are disturbed. Special coupling pads make this ultrasonic clamp-on system maintenance-free throughout its entire product life cycle. Furthermore, the Prosonic Flow P 500 is available with:

  • High-temperature sensors capable of measuring up to 550 °C (1022 °F)
  • A Petroleum Application Package (PAP) for calculating the standard volume of liquid hydrocarbons
  • Heartbeat Technology, which provides continuous process transparency to detect build-up before it impacts operations

Benefits

  • Flexible mounting – FlowDC minimizes the required inlet runs to an absolute minimum.
  • High safety standards – The Prosonic Flow P 500 is developed according to IEC 61508 functional safety standards and holds international approvals for use in hazardous areas, including Zone 1 and Class I, Division 1.
  • Reliable measurement performance – Proven sensors and a maintenance-free mounting system ensure long-term stability, even in high-temperature applications (up to 550 °C/1022 °F).
  • User-friendly operation – Full remote access is available via the web server, and the touch display provides convenient on-site interaction.
  • Transparent process insights – Heartbeat Technology integrates diagnostics, verification, and monitoring functions, ensuring compliance and process safety at all times.
  • Low capital investment – The cost-effectiveness of the Prosonic Flow P 500 increases as the pipe diameter grows (up to DN 4000/160").
