Description

Product Overview

The Client/Server Intelligent Unit DAT9000-USB is a versatile device designed to efficiently manage networks of Modbus RTU slave devices. These devices are connected either via RS-485 serial line or through Modbus TCP over an Ethernet interface. The DAT9000-USB is capable of executing both logical and mathematical operations necessary for system management, and it can handle up to 10 recording tasks, storing the data on a USB device.

The device offers real-time access to internal registers via Ethernet, RS-485 “SLAVE,” or micro-USB ports, making it possible to monitor and control your network effortlessly. Additionally, the DAT9000-USB allows access to files stored on the USB device when the Data-Logger function is active. Configuration and programming are simplified by connecting a PC to the device's front micro-USB port using the CVPROG cable, which enables operation without an external power source. This device supports programming of control logic, real-time data monitoring, and direct programming of slave devices on the RS-485 Master.

Please note that the CVPROG cable is not included with the device and must be purchased separately.

Features

Intelligent Network Control

The DAT9000-USB manages a network of Modbus RTU devices, providing comprehensive control through either RS-485 or Ethernet interfaces. This intelligent unit is designed to facilitate the reading and writing of field values, ensuring smooth and efficient operation across your network.

Real-Time Data Access

With the DAT9000-USB, you can access internal registers in real-time via Ethernet, RS-485, or micro-USB ports. This functionality allows for immediate monitoring and control, enhancing the responsiveness and reliability of your system.

Data Logging Capabilities

The device supports up to 10 data-logging tasks, with records stored directly on a connected USB device. These logs can be easily accessed and managed through the Ethernet interface when the Data-Logger function is active.

Easy Configuration and Programming

Configuration and programming are straightforward, thanks to the device's compatibility with the DEV9K 2.0 software. By using the optional CVPROG cable, users can program the device via the micro-USB port without requiring external power.

Robust and Reliable Design

The DAT9000-USB is housed in a durable, self-extinguishing plastic enclosure, meeting the DIN rail standard EN-50022 for high-density mounting. It offers full electrical isolation between lines, protecting against ground loops and other electrical disturbances.

LED Indicators

LED indicators for Ethernet activity, serial data flow, and power supply status provide visual confirmation of the device's operation, making it easier to monitor system functionality at a glance.

Installation and Setup

The DAT9000-USB is designed for vertical installation on a DIN rail. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to maintain a minimum distance of 5 mm between adjacent devices, especially in environments where panel temperatures exceed 45°C or where high power supply values (>27Vdc) are used. Adequate ventilation must be provided, and the device should be installed away from heat-generating equipment and vibrations. Use shielded cables for signal connections to avoid interference from power lines.

Optional Accessories

CVPROG Interface Cable

The CVPROG cable is an essential accessory for users who need to configure or program the DAT9000-USB without an external power supply. It allows for seamless communication between the device and a PC, functioning as a Virtual Com Port (VCP). Please note that the CVPROG cable must be purchased separately.

Access to Integrated Web Server

The DAT9000-USB includes an integrated web server, accessible through any standard web browser using the device's IP address. The default IP address is 192.168.1.100. To log in, use the default credentials:

  • Username: Fact_user
  • Password: Fact_pwd

These credentials can be changed after the initial login to enhance security.

Environmental and Certification Standards

The DAT9000-USB is built to withstand challenging industrial environments. It is certified for EMC compliance, meeting both immunity and emission standards for industrial applications. The device operates efficiently across a wide temperature range, from -20°C to +60°C, and can be stored in temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as +85°C. It is designed for indoor installation, with an IP20 rating, and is suitable for use at altitudes up to 2000 meters.

Light Signaling

The DAT9000-USB is equipped with multiple LED indicators for easy monitoring:

  • PWR (Green LED): Indicates whether the device is powered.
  • RXn and TXn (Red LEDs): Show data reception and transmission on respective ports.
  • STS (Yellow LED): Signals debug mode or watchdog alarm.

These indicators allow users to quickly assess the operational status of the device, facilitating rapid troubleshooting.
