Cautions during Installation
To ensure optimal performance and longevity, it is crucial to install the ERB Series flexible couplings within the rated allowable misalignment range. Exceeding this range may result in vibrations or a reduced lifespan of the coupling. For setups involving multiple misalignments, it is recommended to reduce each allowable value by 50%. Additionally, for maximum longevity, it is advisable to use the coupling at one-third of the allowable misalignment value.
Cautions during Use
When utilizing the ERB Series couplings, it is important to verify that the coupling is suitable for the intended purpose. Despite its high-strength aluminum construction, the coupling can be damaged if dropped, struck, or subjected to excessive force. Overloading the coupling beyond its rated misalignment or shaft tolerance may lead to plastic deformation or product failure. If abnormal noises are detected during operation, it is imperative to cease operation immediately and investigate potential causes such as misalignment or unscrewing. Furthermore, in applications with significant load fluctuations, ensure the coupling is securely fastened to prevent unscrewing.
