Ambient temperature is the air temperature of any environment or object where equipment is kept. "Relating to the immediate surroundings" is the definition of the term ambient. Ambient temperature is significant for system design and thermal analysis. It is also referred to as the baseline temperature or the ordinary temperature.

If the specified ambient temperature range be exceeded, the sensor will be damaged. Exceeding this range will also make the sensor's performance unreliable.
