Magnetic Fields
Inductive sensors' ferrite cores can get saturated by strong fields, extending their operating distance or possibly causing false switching. However, no long-term harm is caused. As the devices' oscillator frequencies fall within this range, high-frequency fields of several kHz or several hundred kHz may substantially impair the switch's functionality. Shielding is suggested if problems with interfering magnetic fields arise.
