Description

Product Overview

The PRD series of cylindrical inductive proximity sensors, available in both standard and IO-Link communication models, deliver extended sensing distances and exceptional noise resistance. These high-performance sensors are offered in a variety of sizes and sensing ranges, making them suitable for a wide range of applications requiring non-contact detection of metallic objects. With enhanced durability through strain relief cables, the PRD series ensures greater flexibility and longevity in demanding environments.

Main Features

  • IO-Link Communication Models Added: Now available in DC 4-wire M12, M18, and M30 sizes with IO-Link communication support.
  • Operation and Communication Indicators: Equipped with a red LED for operation status and orange/green LEDs for communication status on IO-Link models.
  • IP67 Protection: Built to meet IEC standards, ensuring reliable performance in wet or dusty conditions.
  • Strain Relief Cables: Designed to enhance the flexural strength of the cable connection, providing improved durability (excluding M8 models).
  • Spatter-Resistant Model: A PTFE coating prevents welding spatter from adhering to the sensors, minimizing potential malfunctions.

Applications

  • Plastics/Rubber Industry: Shoe Rubber Press Machines
  • Plastics/Rubber Industry: Electrical Component Manufacturing
  • Elevator Industry: Application example of automation system
  • Elevator Industry: Parking Tower Entry/Exit
  • Food/beverage Manufacturing: Beverage Container Packaging Conveyors
  • Machine Tools Industry: Automatic Drilling Machines

Available in Various Sizes and Cable Types

The PRD series is offered in M8, M12, M18, and M30 sizes, with both cable and cable connector options. These configurations allow for easy installation, even in confined spaces, ensuring compatibility with diverse application requirements.

Easy Maintenance with IO-Link Communication (IO-Link Models Only)

The IO-Link communication models allow for advanced diagnostics, including detection of sensor overloads, unstable conditions, and disconnections. These features enable more convenient maintenance and proactive troubleshooting.

Ring Type Status Indicator

The 360° ring-type indicator provides immediate feedback on the sensor's operation status. The orange LED signals operation, while the green LED indicates stability, allowing users to check the sensor status from any angle.

PTFE Coating Prevents Malfunctions Due to Welding Spatter

The PRD series sensors are available with a PTFE-coated model that prevents welding spatter from adhering to the sensor's surface. This helps maintain performance and reduces malfunctions in welding environments.

Long Sensing Distance

With sensing distances 1.5 to 2 times longer than the Autonics PR series standard inductive sensors, the PRD series delivers superior detection performance, especially for applications requiring increased range.

Strain Relief Cables

The strain relief design significantly improves the flexural strength of the cable connection, allowing for better durability and reduced risk of damage during frequent bending, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Oil-Resistant (PVC) Cable

Equipped with robust, oil-resistant PVC cables, the PRD series sensors can be confidently installed in environments exposed to hydraulic fluids or cutting fluids without compromising sensor functionality.

IP67 Protection Structure

The IP67-rated protection structure guarantees stable operation, even in harsh conditions such as wet or dusty environments, providing reliable performance in challenging industrial settings.

Accessories (Sold Separately)

To complement the PRD Series sensors, various accessories are available:

  • Connector Cable and Connection Cable: For extending connectivity and adapting to different installation setups.
  • Transmission Coupler: Ensures seamless signal transmission between connected devices.
  • Spatter Protection Cover: Provides additional protection in welding environments.
  • Fixed Bracket: Offers stable mounting options to secure the sensors in place.
