Description

Product Overview

The DAT1485 is a highly versatile isolated converter designed to handle a wide range of measurement and linearization tasks. It is capable of measuring and linearizing temperature characteristics from RTD sensors, converting linear resistance variations, and processing mV signals as well as potentiometer inputs. Additionally, the DAT1485 supports standard thermocouple measurement and linearization, with integrated cold junction compensation. The converter translates these measurements into digital engineering units, transmitting data via the MODBUS RTU or MODBUS ASCII protocols over an RS-485 network. This device ensures exceptional accuracy and stability, both over time and across temperature variations. For RTD and resistance probes, the DAT1485 offers three-wire connection for cable compensation, as well as an option for sensor interruption alarms.

Installation Instructions

The DAT1485 converter is designed for direct DIN B in-head mounting, ensuring seamless integration within your system. It must be securely fixed inside the probe using the appropriate mounting kit. For environments requiring DIN rail installation, an optional kit compliant with EN-50022 standards is available. It is crucial to install the device in a vibration-free location and to avoid running conductors near power signal cables to maintain optimal performance. To prevent passive current loops, ensure the shield of the RS485 communication cable is connected at only one point on the network.

Wiring and Connections

The DAT1485 provides straightforward wiring and connection options, including specific guidance for connecting the RS485 communication line, power supply, and analog inputs. The device can be set to INIT mode by adjusting the dip switch, allowing for easy configuration during installation. Detailed instructions on enabling and disabling INIT mode ensure proper setup and operation.
