Special Data Loggers for Monitoring Groundwater in Open-Pit Mining
Groundwater monitoring in open pit mines, such as gold and platinum mines, is essential. For example, for hydrological research and filtration experiments, wells around such mines can be equipped with special autonomous data loggers. The sensors have the ability to check the groundwater temperature and level under frozen soil at a depth of 400-500 meters. Water well heads are equipped with protective metal covers and are electrically linked to data loggers. These data loggers transmit data through special convertors. The data obtained from this system broadens our view of characteristics of a tectonic fault line and the filtration parameters, and as a result we can reach important conclusions about remaining deposits of precious metals.
