Sensor Types and Applications

The WZ Series utilizes industrial platinum resistance thermometers (PT100, PT1000) and various thermocouples (K, J, T, E, S types) as temperature sensors. These sensors are capable of measuring temperatures in the range of -200℃ to 1300℃, making them suitable for a broad spectrum of industrial processes. The sensors are commonly used with display instruments, recording devices, and electronic regulators, providing direct measurement of liquid, vapor, gaseous media, and solid surfaces.

Temperature Range and Accuracy

PT100 and PT1000 Sensors

  • PT100: Operates within -200℃ to 500℃, with precision classes ranging from AA to B.
  • PT1000: Suitable for temperatures between -50℃ and 200℃, available in classes A and B.

Thermocouples

  • K-Type: Measures -40℃ to 1200℃, with two accuracy classes.
  • J-Type: Covers -40℃ to 750℃, with two accuracy classes.
  • T-Type: Handles temperatures from -196℃ to 350℃, with two accuracy classes.
  • E-Type: Operates within -40℃ to 900℃, with two accuracy classes.
  • S-Type: Designed for high-temperature applications, measuring from -40℃ to 1600℃, with two accuracy classes.

Recommendations:

  • PT100 sensors are ideal for applications with long-term temperatures below 300℃.
  • For smaller measurement ranges, PT1000 sensors are recommended.
  • Use K-type thermocouples for long-term temperatures between 300℃ and 800℃.
  • S-type thermocouples are best for applications exceeding 1200℃.

Protection Tube Specifications

The WZ Series offers two primary types of protection tubes:

Assembly Type

  • Diameter: Ranges from 4mm to 22mm.
  • Features: Provides good rigidity and slower response times.

Armored Type

  • Diameter: Ranges from 2mm to 8mm.
  • Features: Flexible and bendable with faster response times, though with higher line resistance.

Installation and Connection Options

The WZ Series sensors can be installed using various methods and connected through different types of electrical connectors, including explosion-proof and waterproof junction boxes, Hirschmann plugs, aviation plugs, and direct cable outlets.

Electrical Connectors

  • Explosion-Proof Junction Box: Rated IP67, with cast aluminum housing.
  • Waterproof Junction Box: Rated IP65, with cast aluminum housing.
  • Hirschmann Plug: Stainless steel housing, rated IP65.
  • Aviation Plug and Direct Cable Outlet: Various configurations to suit specific applications.

Insertion Depth and Installation

The insertion depth of the protection tube can be customized based on the user’s pipe diameter and installation structure. This ensures accurate placement of the probe tip within the medium. Several installation methods are available, including fixed and movable flange installations, as well as threaded options.

Material Options for Protection Tube

  • Stainless Steel 304: Suitable for temperatures between -200℃ and 800℃, offering low carbon content and good intergranular corrosion resistance.
  • Stainless Steel 316L: Handles temperatures from -200℃ to 750℃ with enhanced corrosion resistance.
  • Hastelloy C-276: Ideal for temperatures between -100℃ and 700℃, known for excellent corrosion resistance.
  • Nickel-Based High-Temperature Alloys (GH3030, GH3039): Suitable for extremely high temperatures, up to 1300℃, with superior oxidation resistance.
  • Corundum: An industrial ceramic tube that withstands temperatures up to 1600℃, though it is fragile.
  • PTFE: Designed for applications requiring resistance to corrosive materials, effective from -200℃ to 250℃.
