Application

The Prosonic FDU90 ultrasonic sensor provides continuous, non-contact, and maintenance-free level measurement for a wide range of materials including liquids, pastes, sludges, and powdery to coarse bulk materials. It is also ideal for flow measurement in open channels and weirs. The sensor's performance is unaffected by factors such as dielectric constant, density, or humidity, and it resists build-up thanks to its self-cleaning feature. Suitable for use in explosion-hazardous environments, the sensor offers a maximum measuring range of 3m (9.8ft) for liquids and 1.2m (3.9ft) for solids.

This sensor is typically employed for continuous level monitoring of fluids and bulk materials in silos, conveyor belts, stockpiles, and crushers, as well as for flow measurements in open channels and weirs, especially where low structural heights are involved.
